MyPhotoStudio's referral program works differently. If you brought another photography studio to this platform and they're still renewing their plan two years later, that should still count for you. So it does. Every renewal they make earns you a fresh discount credit on your own plan - not once, every time.
This post walks through exactly how the referral program works, what you earn, and why we built it this way.
What Is the MyPhotoStudio Referral Program?
The referral program is a built-in feature available to every MyPhotoStudio studio account. When you refer another photography studio and they activate their plan using your referral code, you earn a discount credit. Every time that studio pays for any future plan renewal, you earn another credit. Use your credits to get a percentage discount on your own plan renewals.
In simple terms:
- You share your unique 8-character referral code with another studio owner
- They sign up and pay for their plan using your code
- You get a discount credit in your account
- Every time they renew again - you earn another credit
- At your next renewal, the discount applies automatically - no coupon entry needed
The program is live as of July 2, 2026. If you have an active MyPhotoStudio account, your referral code is already generated and waiting on your Billing page.
How It Works - Step by Step
Step 1 - Get Your Referral Code
Every MyPhotoStudio account automatically gets a unique 8-character referral code. You can find it on your Billing page - it appears in large text with a one-click Copy button. Your code looks like this: MPSMFHJG. Just share this code with any photography studio owner you know.
No application needed, no minimum usage requirement. If you have an active account, the code is already there.
Step 2 - The Studio You Referred Signs Up
The studio you referred signs up on MyPhotoStudio. When they receive their plan payment link, the payment page shows an optional "Have a referral code?" field. They enter your 8-character code and click Apply. That is all they need to do - the referral is registered at that point.
If they missed the payment page, they can also enter the code from their own Billing page after activation. And if that option is no longer available, the platform admin can manually link the referral from the Studio Detail page.
Step 3 - You Earn a Credit
As soon as the referred studio completes their payment, you automatically earn one discount credit. You receive a WhatsApp notification and an email confirming that a new reward has been added to your account. The credit sits in your account until you renew - you do not need to do anything to activate it.
Step 4 - Discount Applied at Your Next Renewal
When it is time to renew your own plan, the discount applies automatically. You will see a green "You have a Referral Reward!" banner on your Billing page showing exactly how much you save on this renewal. The payment via Razorpay reflects the discounted amount. No coupon code, no manual action - the system handles it.
Step 5 - Keep Earning on Every Future Renewal
This is the part that is different. The credit you earned in Step 3 was not a one-time thing. Every single time the studio you referred pays for any plan renewal - month 3, month 12, month 30 - you earn another credit. Refer one studio and potentially keep earning from that referral for years.
What Makes This Referral Program Different
Recurring Rewards, Not One-Time
Most referral programs work on a sign-up trigger: you earn once when someone joins, and the relationship ends there. This model means the platform gets the benefit of a long-term paying customer while you got a single reward that was used up in one cycle.
MyPhotoStudio's referral program is tied to renewal events, not sign-up events. Every renewal your referred studio makes is a new trigger. If they stay on the platform for 24 months, that is 24 separate credits added to your account - or 12 if they are on a biannual plan, or 2 if they are on an annual plan. The credits accumulate as long as they keep renewing.
Automatic - No Manual Tracking
You do not need to check a dashboard to see if your credit was applied. You do not need to remember to enter a code at renewal. You do not need to contact support to claim your reward.
When you renew, the system automatically detects your pending credits and applies the oldest one first. You see the discounted amount on the payment screen. That is the entire process on your end.

Your Billing page shows your full referral picture in one place:
- Your unique referral code with a one-click Copy button
- How many studios you have referred in total
- How many credits are currently pending (not yet used)
- How many credits you have already used
There is no hidden state. You know exactly what you have earned and what is waiting to be used.
Credits Stay Valid for 2 Years
Each credit you earn is valid for 730 days (2 years) from the date it was earned. This is not a 30-day voucher that pressures you into renewing before you are ready. If your renewal is 8 months away, the credit will still be there.
The only credits that do not stick around: ones you earn close to the 2-year mark on a credit that was earned long before you needed it. Even then, the system uses credits in First In, First Out order - the oldest credit is always applied first, which naturally protects the credits you earned most recently.
The Math - What You Actually Save
The platform currently sets the referral reward at 10%. Here is what that looks like across a realistic studio scenario.
Scenario: You refer Nagul Photography. Your referral code is MPSMFHJG. Nagul Photography is on the Rs.1,000 monthly plan.

As long as Nagul Photography keeps renewing, you keep saving Rs.100 on every one of your renewals.
Refer 3 studios? You could earn 3 credits per renewal cycle - each applied one at a time, building up a queue. If renewals from all three arrive before your next renewal, you save on 3 consecutive renewals of your own.
The maximum discount per renewal is capped at 50% to protect the platform's sustainability. One credit is used per renewal, not multiple at once. So the savings stack over time rather than all at once - which, honestly, is more useful.
The Rules - What to Know Before You Start
The referral program is straightforward. But here are the boundaries worth knowing upfront:
- Maximum discount per renewal: 50% - even if you have many pending credits, only one is used per renewal and the discount will not exceed 50% of the plan price
- One credit per renewal: credits queue up and are used one at a time in order
- Minimum Rs.1 charge: even at maximum discount, Razorpay requires at least Rs.1 per transaction
- Code entry is one-time only: a studio can only be referred once - the referral code field appears on their first payment link only
- Cannot refer yourself: the system prevents entering your own referral code
- Credits expire after 2 years: each credit is valid for 730 days from when it was earned
- Plan eligibility: the platform admin can mark certain plans as ineligible for referral discounts - most plans are eligible by default
Where to Find Your Referral Code Right Now
Log in to your MyPhotoStudio account at app.myphotostudio.in and go to Billing in the top navigation. The first card on the page shows your referral code in large text with a Copy button.
Below your code, you will see your referral statistics: how many studios you have referred, how many credits are pending, and how many you have already used.
If you were referred by another studio owner, there is also a "Have a Referral Code?" section on the same Billing page where you can enter their code to link the referral - useful if you missed the field during your initial payment.
A Note on Why We Built It This Way
Photography in India is a community. Studio owners know each other. They share tips, recommend vendors, and send inquiries to peers who cover different event types or cities. That community trust is something that typically goes unrewarded - you recommend a tool you believe in and get nothing for it.
